Anthony

At the salon, he is sometimes overheard recalling childhood memories of how his mother’s friends would rave over their hairdressers, and how these spirited conversations sparked his passion for ‘making people feel beautiful.’

From those early formative years, Anthony pursued his passion without means or privilege, even going so far as to attend beauty school in secret. In high school, friends would form a line from the bathroom out the front door, sometimes waiting hours for a trim, to both the pride and frustration of his mother.

He has since parleyed these humble beginnings into an internationally recognized career as a master of hair that spans the most elite studios and academies from New York to London, Vancouver to Milan.

The unique combination of his hard knocks upbringing and worldly experience has resulted in a creative but eclectic philosophy that he imparts to all of our stylists. Having mentored dozens of assistants into confident successful stylists, Anthony emphasizes a meticulous attention to detail and “controlling hair, not letting it control you.”

Anthony also holds more than a decade of experience as the Director of Education to exclusive boutiques here in San Diego, where he first developed his simple, yet powerful customer-centric philosophy: “Always spend how ever much time perfection takes.” He and his wife, Corinne, now translate that mantra and their hair-experience in teaching the many young Stylists that come to Salotto to enhance their training in all things hair.

In his own words, Anthony’s vision for Salotto is “an upscale salon without the intimidation. No fake kisses or attitudes. Just real caring people…who rock at hair.”

Corinne

Simply put, Corinne is the lifeblood of Salotto and the personification of “Complete Beauty.”

And “Complete Beauty” is more than skin-deep, it is both an experience and a state-of-mind. As our Director of Guest Experience, the softness of Corinne’s manner belies an unrelenting focus: EVERYONE GETS THE SAME “COMPLETE BEAUTY” EXPERIENCE, EVERY TIME.

This is no small task. Corinne listens with a deftness and focus beyond her years, and she has a particular gift for drawing out a look or vibe that a client may be unable to articulate.

Such an intent focus on relationships involves all details big and small. She can recall the name of every guest since we first opened our doors, their hair issues and how they take their coffee.But to us, above all, she is a friend and mentor who empowers stylists, assistants and guests alike to feel Completely Beautiful.

Lezlee

Lezlee, one of the original members of the Salotto team in 2005, returns to Salotto from a hair styling career in downtown San Diego. Her laugh is infectious and her smile defines the excellence of her customer service. A true mom, she nurtures her clients needs and always takes the time to assure that they are met.

• Floor instructor for Poway Academy of Hair Design (now Bellus Academy of Hair Design), supervising and assisting students with color and cutting procedures

Jasmin

Unfortunately with distancing regulations and schedule restrictions, Jasmin is currently unable to return to Salotto. Once we see consistent evidence of a decline in cases of Covid-19 and restrictions begin to lift, we hope to have her rejoin our team. Shari

Shari is a high performance, creative stylist and color specialist who has offered her design talents and her keen sense of style to clients throughout the country for over 16 years. Trained by Sassoon masters, Shari believes beauty is an individual expression. She loves to add that certain color “pop” to showcase a great cut and put together just the right look for you.

Shalay

After years in the corporate world, Shalay has rediscovered her passion for beauty. Her intuitive communication skills ensure each guest in our salon receives a personalized experience, every time. Shalay says, “Providing consistently excellent service is my #1 priority!” With a calming presence, Shalay is an involved member of our team, consistantly ensuring our clients ultimate satisfaction.

Becki K.

Originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, Becki grew up dreaming of becoming a hairstylist. Instead, she moved to California, obtained her Bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology and worked in the field until it was time to start a family. In 2009, Becki was able to begin fulfilling her dream of working in the beauty industry as an Esthetician while continuing to raise her girls. Although the skin care world was a stepping stone for Becki, she never gave up her love for hair. Once her daughters were old enough, Becki pursued her dream of becoming a hairstylist. She continues extensive education to deliver top notch services in the beauty industry. Becki is a reiki master and lends a soothing touch with an attention to detail in all that she does.

Lauren Blackburn

Following high school, Lauren made the natural progression to university with the intentions of feeding her passion for psychology. After taking some time off, she found her true calling in hair dressing. “It’s kind of funny now because sometimes I almost feel like a therapist, without the masters degree… the way people open up to me about their lives and the connection I have with my clients.”

Katherine

In a high school Cosmetology course a lightbulb went off for katherine that sparked her career and passion for all things beauty. After completion of advanced training here at Salotto Katherine developed a special interest in smoothing treatments which has led her to becoming our very own smoothing specialist.Katherine is a talented makeup Artist and offers a full package with her deeper understanding of various hair textures to ensure a long lasting style or timeless color and cut. Always a team player, Katherine is an integral member of the Salotto family.

Jamid

Jamid’s passion for hair began as a Barber on deployment. After a year of training at Salotto he is now a double threat as a dual licensed Barber and Stylist. Jamid takes a pride in his aim for perfection in working with all lengths of hair and really emphasizes on the hair health in his approach to both cutting and coloring. Mastering his skill set is a top priority for Jamid in all that he does and the challenges each client brings his way is his driving force.

Traveling the world as a Navy Ordnanceman steered Jamid from his New Mexico roots to settling here in San Diego with his wife. As a true handyman Jamid loves to explore building, working on his ‘74 Baja Beetle and making music be it on his guitar, piano, violin ukulele or harmonica… But most of his days are spent at Salotto bringing smiles to his clients with his attention to detail.
