COVID-19 Response: App check-ins and check-out, station dividers, temperature checks and more. Learn more
On March 18, we made a voluntary decision to close our doors. With a contraction of Covid-19 reported in a neighboring community, it was evident that a difficult decision had to be made in order to maintain the health and safety of our patrons and staff. Days later, the statewide “shelter in place” order was put into effect. While we began by taking the mandatory closure as a moment to allow quality time with our families, we also knew there was work to be done and we were diligent about staying on top of the updates regarding how our business would be best positioned with health and safety standards necessary for the times, in addition to those that our industry of beauty already knew so well.
During our Covid journey of re-opening, closing again, opening outside and now being reclassified as a profession that has proven to be trusted during this pandemic, Salotto Salon has been on the forefront of advocacy, change and the ultimate professionalism. We have reinvented our health and safety protocols and each service in our salon is equipped with pre-made bags complete with disinfected tools, laundered capes and drapes designated for each client’s service needs. Our stations and shampoo chairs are separated by plexi dividers and the surfaces within our salon are consistently disinfected after each point of contact.
Our team consists of two wonderful salon assistants who afford our stylists much needed time to dedicate to their clients without jeopardizing time for sanitation practices. During the week we have implemented an hourlong siesta as an opportunity for our stylists to leave the salon for a mask-less breath and for our assistants to catch up on cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting. Overall, you can rest assured that your health and safety is a top priory at Salotto.
All staff has received Barbicide and Covid -19 sanitation certificates, reinforcing our basic sanitation protocols and the additional protocols suited for the current circumstances.
Our waiting area has been removed. Clients will check in for appointments from the Parking Lot on our new app, Pocket Salon, within 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. If Pocket Salon is not available to you, please call the salon at (858) 592-9362. You will be notified when your chair is sanitized and ready to begin your appointment. Please limit the amount of items you bring into the salon.
Your temperature will be checked upon entering and you will be escorted directly to the bathroom to wash your hands. Sadly, we will be refraining from handshakes or hugs. Masks will be required at all times in the salon and will be available for purchase, as needed.
Each room has a Rabbit Air Filter (always has), hand sanitizers will be on each station and throughout the salon. Stylists sanitize all affected areas as your services commence, as well as in between appointments. A deep and thorough sanitation of the Salon will happen during our Siesta, as mentioned above.
Magazines have been removed and our beverage options will not be available for the time being. Please feel free to bring a sealed beverage container of choice. Snacks can be eaten outside our outdoor range area.
No guests will be allowed in the salon without a scheduled appointment. We realize your children may be at home and day care options are limited. While we are sympathetic to each of your situations, we will no longer be permitting children to accompany you in our salon until further notice. Thank you for your understanding!
Check out will be available from your phone in the Pocket Salon app. You will have the ability to add products, include tip, search for follow up appointments all from the palm of your hand. If you won’t have access to our new app, we have touch-less payment options with our new credit card machine. Cash will not be accepted as payment at this time and change will not be available. Please bring exact change if you intend to tip your stylist with the green stuff.
